Eighth progress report on counterterrorism and Summary Terrorist Threat Assessment Netherlands 13
The report outlines the progress that has been made in the past six months in the development and implementation of the various elements of
the anti-terrorism policy. These elements, which will be presented in the following order, are: combating radicalisation, advancing international
collaboration, creating effective tools and structures, taking security measures, being prepared for (the c onsequences of) a possible attack, and
communication and information.
The current threat picture is not materially different from the picture of DTN12. The conceivable international terrorist threat against Europe and
therefore also the Netherlands clearly remains very present. The fact that the threat level remains at ‘Substantial’ is mainly due to the aforementioned international threat and the international profile of the Netherlands.
