Wieke Vink

Wieke Vink is Deputy National Coordinator for Counterterrorism and Security (NCTV) and director Counterterrorism, Civil Aviation Security, Governance, Risk & Compliance and Operations.

Background

Wieke completed her studies in History at Erasmus University in Rotterdam in 1998. In the following years she obtained her PhD and taught at the same university.

From 2007 to 2013 she worked at the former Ministry of Housing and Spatial Planning as a policy officer and strategic advisor on social integration.

A two-year period as coordinator for the Religion and Society program at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment followed. There, her responsibilities included the development of the prevention program Countering Radicalization.

In 2014, she made the transition to the National Coordinator for Counterterrorism and Security. Over the past eleven years, Wieke has been active at the NCTV in various roles, mainly in the field of counterterrorism.

During her time at the NCTV, Wieke attended several Leadership Programs and went through the Candidates Program of the Dutch Senior Civil Service.

In 2021, she joined the management team of the NCTV and became Director of Counterterrorism and Civil Aviation Security.

On September 1, 2024, Wieke became the deputy National Coordinator for Counterterrorism and Security.  Governance, Risk & Compliance and Operations were added to her portfolio.

As of September 1, 2025, she will be the acting NCTV.
